Dress Code

General

Banstead Downs Golf Club aims to operate a contemporary and forward thinking dress policy in line with a modern day golf club. It is in our interests to maintain reasonable standards of casual but smart dress in keeping with golfing standards.

Members and visitors are therefore made aware that the following are required standards that must be adhered to both on the golf course and in the clubhouse.

On the golf course

Golfing attire is required for all players. Tracksuits, denim, cargo/combat trousers or shorts, t-shirts, rugby/football shirts and trainers are not permitted on the course. T-shirts should have a collar and be tucked in to shorts/trousers. Socks worn with shorts, must be sports socks and predominantly white in colour, coloured socks may be worn if they match the outfit. Golf shoes must be worn.*

*this is fully relaxed for new junior players trying out aged 13 and under

In the clubhouse

Unless otherwise stated for a particular event clean and dry casual dress is allowed throughout the clubhouse and smart denim is permitted.

Headwear to be removed when in the clubhouse.

Trainers and spikeless golf shoes can be worn and all footwear must be clean and dry.
